In addition to the attached Guide and Checklist for AFS Book Chapter Authors, please take special note of the additional instructions and information on this sheet.
The text must be submitted in electronic file on IBM compatible disk as a text file, either MS Word or WordPerfect. Text should be double-spaced, in 12 point Times Roman font with 1.25" margins.
Line Art in the form of diagrams, maps or graphs must be of publication quality and provided as electronic file. All line art should be submitted separate as separate files (not embedded in the text file) in encapsulated postscript (EPS) or TIFF high-resolution format.
Graphics and photos, in black and white, should be at 1200 dpi. We will not accept color graphics or photos.
Line art drawn free hand or produced on a dot matrix printer is not acceptable. All line art must be cited as a figure in the text of the article. All figures must contain a legend/caption provided on a separate page of the text. Line art prepared by using Power Point or other presentation slide software does not work as a printed illustration.
Presentation of large quantities of data in tabular form in articles is discouraged because it detracts from the flow of the text. Small, concise tables that complement the text are acceptable. Tabular material must also be submitted as paper copy and electronic file separate from the text.
