Trophic Ecology and Digestive Physiology of Herbivorous Fishes
Although they are abundant components of some freshwater and marine faunas, very little is known about the biology of feral herbivorous fishes. This symposium hopes to use an interdisciplinary approach to come to a better understanding of how fishes process herbaceous material and the role of that processing in ecosystem dynamics. At this early stage, papers are solicited on either end of this broad spectrum of topics relating to fish herbivory or anywhere in between. We are also interested in work on tropical or temperate fishes from freshwater or marine environments.
